Now that STEPs are recognized and have joined with Professional Staff across UC as part of UAW Local 4811, STEPs have the opportunity to join our union as dues-paying members. Membership provides the resources to have each other’s backs and enforce our contract. Our membership numbers signal to UC and LBNL how engaged STEPs are and that translates directly to how much power we have to impart change in our workplace. This is why a majority of UAW workers at LBNL and across the UC are dues-paying members. Sky-high membership will be essential to ensure UC faithfully and quickly implements our raises and other important benefits.
