First, if you have not yet heard, the Public Employees Relation Board verified that a majority of the 1000 Berkeley Lab Support Engineers have signed STEP-UAW union authorization cards, and have notified our employer that the card count is valid.
As we come together to chart our path forward, fellow Science Technology and Engineering Professionals are hosting a panel discussion, “The Road Ahead”, in B15-253 this Thursday, May 14, 2026 at 12 PM PT. Postdocs and project scientists at LBNL, and research support staff at UC will share how they mobilized their colleagues to win standard-setting contracts. Lunch provided for those in attendance in person, a zoom option will be available for those not on-site that day.

Finally, LBL’s Veteran ERG “Operation Care Package” drive is ending on the same day as our event. If you are so inclined, please consider bringing one of the items listed here. A collection bucket at our event will be picked up immediately after our meeting and delivered to the VERG team.
